WMG graduate Iqbal wants to contribute to Indonesia's community using the skills he learned at Warwick.
Why did you choose Warwick?
Warwick offers a theoretical and practical approach in my course - Supply Chain and Logistics Management, which brings personal and professional growth. For instance, I conducted my thesis titled, ‘Future Landscape of Scrap Seaborne Trade and Global Scrap Balance (Demand-Supply) for TATA Steel Limited’, which amplifies the concept of forecasting that I learned in the classroom, to bring a real impact on the sustainability concept of the steelmaking industry.
What are you doing now?
Customer Service and Supply Chain Manager.
What motivates you to do what you do?
I would like to contribute to Indonesia's community by providing accessible and affordable finished goods in the personal care and home care category. Moreover, I connected with a lot of operations experts during my journey that has helped me to shape my business and operational acumen in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
How has your time at Warwick influenced what you do now?
I learned about the latest concepts in the operations field that I’ve implemented in my current position, such as exponential forecasting to capture the volatility of items. It helps me to find a better solution and mitigation. Moreover, I have some contacts that support me through discussions on any operational challenges that I face during my journey.
Favourite memory?
My favourite memory is meeting a lot of people from around the world who brought different cultures and perspectives to me. I gained not only new connections but also a family during my journey in Warwick, and I shared my ups and downs with them.
Favourite place on campus?
The deck near lakeside residence.
