What motivates you to do what you do?
I love providing health education and promotion for global positive impact to prevent disease processes.
How has your time at Warwick influenced what you do now?
Studying a degree that straddled across two different disciplines (humanities and social sciences)taught me to be open minded and know that there are always multiple ways to look at an issue. This influenced my decision to apply to my current role, despite not having a business or tech background. I knew that I had the capacity to learn what was needed and apply the skills I learnt during my degree in the position.
It has given me the knowledge and skill to broadly educate the global population, and health care professionals to prevent type 2 diabetes, as well as to help manage and prevent the condition. It has progressed my career into research recognition to support my future career goal in systematic review research.
Why did you choose Warwick?
It is a prestigious global high-ranking university, which I knew would help me to achieve my career goals as a specialist in diabetes care and systematic review research.
Favourite memory?
All of it really. The specialists, nurse specialists, and endocrinologist that taught us, the professor that guided my research journey from the USA, and my course colleagues who remain in contact.
My thesis and presentation process. I enjoyed the whole course and research journey. Despite an unannounced and unpredictable traumatic period in my life, the course supported me through that difficult time as it was a healthy distraction in a temporary situation beyond my control.
Best thing about the Warwick community?
The achievements of career paths beyond university after graduating.
Favourite place on campus?
It was an online and global course with international health care professionals, which gave a huge insight into diabetes and was also an enjoyable experience.
