What are you doing now?
I'm regional account manager at Avaya. Responsible for relationships with large, multinational clients in the Asia-Pacific region. I came to Japan looking for adventure just after I finished my undergraduate studies, liked the place and have been here ever since.

Why did you decide to become an alumni ambassador?
Warwick is not well-known in Japan, which impacts all graduates who are based here. I decided to try and help 'spread the word' about the University in this part of the world.

What kind of people make up the local alumni community?
Mostly locals, with perhaps 20-30% expats. They work in a wide range of sectors; financial services, IT, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, government and education.

What kind of events do you run? Do you get a good turnout?
We have decided to run an event quarterly. We're mostly networking at the moment to build up awareness, but with plans to diversify later. Turnouts have been good, although we have only had two events so far. There seems to be good interest in the group in Japan.

Have been back to Warwick recently?
I was there for graduation in 2009. The campus improvements have continued since the last time I was there.
