A journey driven from a life long passion for plants

As part of a monthly series featuring the eight finalists in this 2020 competition, Andy Gladman (PhD student of Dr Dave Chandler) and his Leamington Spa allotment are the subject of March's edition. Andy has been transforming an allotment since 2018 from 'a field of couch grass and bindweed' to an 'astonishingly vibrant and drought tolerant garden'.

Working on a tight budget, seed sowing and recycling have been key to the project. His many plants are now a haven for insects, with great diversity in both butterfly and bee species.
