Mark (BSc Accounting and Financial Analysis, 1990) and Anne Curry (LLB Law, 1990)
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in August 2023 having met when we were allocated rooms near each other in Benefactors’ Hall in October 1987. We started dating a month later. We married in August 1993, with several Warwick alumni amongst the guests, and we now have two children; Alex who has graduated from UEA, and Maddie who is in the Upper Sixth at school.
We celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Stockholm, and we’re forever grateful to the person who sorted the University hall allocations in 1987!
Will (BSc Maths, 2017) and Josephine Fowler-Allen (BA History, 2017)
Will and I met at Warwick in our first year, and we were put into the same flat in Heronbank - flat 117. Will studied Maths and I studied History and we both graduated in 2017. We got together in 2015 and last September we got married! We also had a Warwick bridesmaid and usher, who also graduated in 2017, Katie (History) and Andrew (Maths).
When we were choosing our halls nearly ten years ago, we had to write a small section about our personality - we assume so the accommodation team at Warwick could match people in flats as best as they could. We are convinced they should start a dating service as it turns out we both put that we love playing the piano, had similar interests in certain TV programmes, and music too. We always joke that it was the Warwick Accommodation team that 'matched' us!
Becky (BA (QTS), 2007)
and Joel Breedon (BA (QTS), 2007)
My husband and I met in 2003 on the BA (QTS) course and became a couple in 2005. We married in 2013 with many of our fellow Warwick graduates at the wedding and now have two children. My husband is now a trust partner after being a Head Teacher for over 10 years and after being deputy head and SENDCO, I have returned to full time class teaching in Year 6.
Such fond memories of our time at Warwick - some of the best of our lives.
Ellie Payne (BSc Biological Sciences, 2016) and Jonty Heiser (BSc Physics, 2014)
My husband and I met at Warwick in 2013 during my first year of Biological Sciences and his last year of Physics. We met at the Aikido Club and became good friends and started dating during my third year (end of 2015). Without the Aikido Club, we otherwise likely wouldn't have met, due to only a year overlap and different subjects. We have now been together for nine years and were married October 2023. Another Warwick alumni and ex-Aikido Club President, Will Simpson (Physics), was the best man, and several other Warwick alumni were present.
Very grateful to have met Jonty at Warwick!
Viv (BSc Biological Sciences, 1989) and Myles Kelvin (BEng Engineering Electronics, 1989)
We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary in August 2023. Having first met doing First Year Reception (FYR Week) Oct 1988. My job was to take one of the University minibuses and pick up the freshers coming by train at Coventry train station, and Myles’s job was to meet the minibus shuttles on campus and show them to their rooms. We had to wear the turquoise themed FYR T-shirts, which featured Flintstones Bam Bam and Pebbles. We still have them to this day, they’re 36 years old this year! We started dating that week.
We married in August 1993 with several Warwick alumni amongst the guests in my village church in South Wales. In 2001, we emigrated to America - south of San Francisco - for Myles’s job in Silicon Valley. I own a real estate company and Myles has an IT business development company. We now have two children, Emily a research scientist at California State University, and Jonathan a mechanical engineer working in LA. We celebrated our special anniversary with a dream trip to Bora Bora, where we went scuba diving with sharks and eagle rays.
Jatin Goel (BSc Accounting and Finance, 2014) and Harnoor Gauba (BSc Economics, 2014)
I was at Warwick studying Accounting and Finance when I met my wife Harnoor who was studying for a BSc in Economics. We married on the 28th November 2022.
Scott (BEng Computer System Engineering, 1995; PGCE, 1996) and Anna James (BSc Psychology, 1995; PGCE, 1996)
I met my partner Anna within the first few weeks of joining Warwick, she was at Whitefields and I lived at Wainbody House. We had mutual friends from our residence studying Biology. We were not so much introduced as turned up at the same social event. We were dating by the end of our first term. We completed our degrees and then stayed on to study for a PGCE. At some point along the way we moved in together; not sure when staying at someone's house became living together! We moved to Warrington and then to Essex before ending up in Sussex. We were married in 1998 and celebrated this year our 50th birthdays and 25th wedding anniversary. We have three children (but failed to convince any of them to go to Warwick) Beth, Maddie, and Tomas. Most of my current closest friends today were met at Warwick.
I work as Head of Technology for Trowe Price, and Anna is a Lecturer at Crawley College.
Chris (BSc Mathematics, 1981) and Malcolm Fox (BSc Accounting and Financial Analysis, 1981)
On March 15th, my wife and I celebrated 40 years since our first date. We both joined Warwick in 1978 and, although I remember seeing her early in the first year at a Maths disco, and I have a picture that seems to show us in fairly close proximity at the Mud concert, it wasn’t until a few years after we left that we were setup for a blind date. We have never looked back! Warwick set us both up for highly rewarding careers, including a decade in California. We are now back in the Cotswolds enjoying retirement with grandchildren.
