'I was headhunted, while I was studying, to join the asset management arm one of the largest banks in Sweden...'

Head of Nordics, Amundi

Tell us about your journey after Warwick

When joining the MBA at Warwick I was working for a foundation as CFO. I was headhunted, while I was studying, to join the asset management arm one of the largest banks in Sweden as Senior Relationship Manager for institutional clients. After three years, I was made Head of Mutual Funds and Institutional Clients, managing a group of around 100 people. After seven years, I moved on to an international bank as Head of Nordics.

Could you tell us about what you do?

I am CEO of Nordics for Europe’s largest asset managers, Amundi, with two teams, one in Helsinki and one in Stockholm. We manage money for the largest pension funds and foundation in the region and we also provide strategies and product to the large banks.

What do you love about your work?

I love closing a deal, I love seeing my team members grow and do deals, and I love meeting the clients.

What is the biggest challenge you think women face today?

Women today still have to work harder than men to reach the next level. And men recruit men because they feel comfortable with their own kind. Make yourself seen and heard!

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

It is a day to reflect on where we stand today in regards of women’s opportunities, what we have accomplished and what we need to do more.

What advice would you give to female students and alumnae?

Work hard and SHOW what you do. Do not sit in a corner and do all the hard work while a man is presenting and taking all the credit. SHOW your boss what you are doing and do not be ashamed to do it. The guys do that all the time! And do not think that your boss sees what you do, you need to show them.

Is there a woman you look to for inspiration?

My inspiration is the character Pippi Longstocking. She is strong, independent, a real friend, does not care what people think and she never takes no for an answer
