Studying numismatics at Warwick

The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) and 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) identified numismatics as one of the ‘outstanding strengths’ of the Department of Classics and Ancient History.

Our numismatic profile also includes our Honorary Professor, Christopher Howgego of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Professor Howgego is a leading expert on ancient coinage and the monetary economy of Greece and Rome.
