Roman Road from Mancetter? Filed of Chariots?

Roman roads (according to x) pass through Coventry from Mancetter and the field of chariots (wherever this really is) – need to see if there is evidence from thingy. Mandeussedum, road goes through Caldecote, Hartshill, Camp Hill, Nuneaton, Caldwell, Griff, Bedworth, Coventry Rd., Longford Rd and Foleshill Rd. McG believes it skirted Barr’s Hill (camp site?) then bishop street to where pillars stood and where in 1796 statuette of Mars was found. Beyond causeway was a track where second statue of Mars was found leaning on shiled and wheatsheaf,

2013 The Archaeological Data Service stated possible evidence for Roman road at Cox Street. Early C20 excavation uncovered possible Roman river crossing from putative road running from Mancetter to Baginton.

Coventry Standard 23rd May 1855 -the workmen making new stret from Ford St to East St, when just at the brow of hill in Swanswell fields, came upon bed broken stone like used on turnpike roads.

Medieval and /or a Roman road discussed by Shelton.

Grid Reference: SP 3341 7900

1> Shelton discusses a medieval road that would have linked the Burgess to Well Street and Broadgate that would have carried most monastic traffic … possibly also the Nunnery.

2> Roadway discovered at St Johns Hospital: 'did this roadway lead to the quarries of Broadgate… or is it part of a roadway discovered in 1818 at Broadgate, at a depth of 8ft, which at the time was stated to be a Roman road? In fact a coin of Nero was found there and also a small figure supposed to be Roman.
