Rubric:

Essay 1:

EITHER write a comparative essay that considers how two or three texts from Term 1 engage with one of the topics listed under our list of 'things to look out for' from week 1 (so you might, e.g., develop an argument about how two texts put forward an internationalist vision, or make use of didactic elements). OR write two shorter pieces that consider how two texts from Term 1 engage with two of the topics listed under 'things to look out for' (so in this option you would choose one text per topic; note, the two short pieces are submitted together as one essay).

Essay 2:

Write an essay on a topic of your choosing; you must make reference to at least one text from Term 2.
