Feminist History Group: Caroline Bressey (UCL) on Caroline Impey
Location: H3.03 Humanities building, University of Warwick
Born in Street, Somerset where she lived for her entire life, Catherine Impey does not fit the usual mould of a radical activist, though she was an active campaigner for equality and an innovative periodical editor with an international readership for her journal ‘Anti-Caste’. In this talk I will outlie the work undertaken by Catherine as part of her anti-racist activism and consider how she and her colleagues challenge the geographies of Victorian women’s activism.
