Rethinking writing the History of Parliament

The History of Parliament is a major academic project which creates scholarly reference works describing the members, constituencies and activities of the UK Parliament. The resources are widely used by researchers of British political, social and local history. Recent initiatives include greater use of digitisation and digital resources as well as collaboration with a wide range of scholars in the field. This workshop is designed to

- outline new initiatives in the History of Parliament - particularly digitisation and integration with other digital resources

- consider how this may change the ways in which the resource is used showcasing some recent research

- explore the process of writing for the History of Parliament in an interactive session
