History of Medicine Reading group

- Export as iCalendar
Location: H0.02 Humanities

The 'Situating Medicine Discussion Group' will meet hopefully three or four times a term to discuss history of medicine themes within contemporary media; for instance film, documentary, literature, news articles and art. The group is open to all postgraduate and undergraduate students (as well as post-docs and staff) with an interest in the history of medicine and it would be great to see as many of you as possible at our first event.

Titled 'Science or Spectacle? The "freakshow" and the medical documentary', the session will be based around a viewing of the documentary 'Extraordinary People: The Twins Who Share a Body' followed by discussion of issues raised in the film and by the reading. A selection of suggested readings are available in hard copy from the envelope on the door of room H449a in the graduate space, feel free to read as many or as few as you wish. The session takes place at 11 - 1pm, Friday 28th (Week 9) in room H0.02.

Light refreshments will be provided.

All welcome!
