History Department Undergraduate Offer-Holder Open Days

 
Offer-Holders

If you have been made an offer for a place on one the History Department undergraduate courses, you will also receive an invitation to attend one of the Offer-Holder Open Days. Places for each day are limited, and so you are recommended to book early to avoid disappointment. For offer-holders of the courses of History (V100), History and Politics (VM11) and History and Philosophy (V1V5), the forthcoming offer-holder open day dates are as follows:

  • Wednesday 19th February 2020
  • Saturday 7th March 2020 a.m.
  • Saturday 7th March 2020 p.m.
  • Wednesday 22nd April 2020 p.m.

Schedule for your visit (Wednesday 19th February and Wednesday 22nd April)

The schedule for your visit will be as follows:

  • Morning (optional): offer-holders have the option to book onto a Warwick Offer-Holder Morning, which are run exclusively for offer-holders. These are designed for those who would like to receive general information about the University (e.g. accommodation, finance and funding, etc.) who may not have had the opportunity to visit one of our University Open Days in 2019. The Warwick Offer-Holder Mornings also include a campus tour and a visit into two halls of residence.

12:00-12:45 Free time for prospective students to take lunch on campus
12:45 (for 13:00)

Please congregate in the Science Concourse corridor (across the road bridge from Library), where Student Ambassadors will register and deliver you to the Welcome Talk led by Head of Department and current students (L3)

14:15-14:45

Student Ambassadors will escort you to to the ground floor foyer of the Mathematics and Statistics Building. From there you will be directed to:

One of two Taster Lectures (MS.03 and MS.05)

15:00-16:30

Student Ambassadors will escort you to the foyer outside the Porters Lodge on the ground floor of Humanities Building, Library Road entrance. From there you will be directed to:

History Department Optional Drop-in Session (H3.02 and H3.03, third floor)
Current students and staff will be on hand to answer questions about the wide range of opportunities available to students in the Department of History, including questions about modules and student life at Warwick. There will also be academic and support staff on hand. Refreshments will be provided.

15:00-16:00

Student Ambassadors will escort you to Mathematics and Statistics Building, room MS.04:
15:00-15:30 - Presentation to joint-degree applicants
15:30-16:00 - Presentation by Warwick Careeers Service and History Director of Student Experience

The schedule for your visit will be as follows:

Please congregate in the Oculus Building, ground floor foyer, where Student Ambassadors will register and deliver you to the Welcome Talk led by Head of Department and current students (OC0.03, The Yesu Persaud Lecture Theatre)

11:15-11:45

Student Ambassadors will escort you to to the foyer outside the Porters Lodge on the ground floor of Social Studies Building. From there you will be directed to:
One of three Taster Lectures (S0.11, S0.19 and S020)

12:00-13:00

Student Ambassadors will escort you to the foyer outside the Porters Lodge on the ground floor of Humanities Building, Library Road entrance. From there you will be directed to:

  • One of our current students will lead a guided tour of the campus on the day of your visit, but you may wish to take a Virtual Tour of Campus in advance of your visit.
