SEMINAR 15: PERSONALITIES AND POLITICS UNDER EDWARD

Summary: Having considered the experience of Edwardian reformation in the localities, this seminar turns to the making of policy at the centre. We will discuss (and assess debates over) the coherence and consistency of Edwardian reform, as well as the aims and agency of key figures, including the young King Edward himself.

Seminar and essay questions:

a) ‘The Edwardian reformers disagreed over means, but not over ends.’ Discuss.

b) How significant a figure was King Edward for the Edwardian Reformation?
