Feedback on HI271 Politics, Literature and Ideas: Term 1 Questionnaires 2016-2017

I am glad that you are very much enjoying the module and that you have a very high level of satisfaction with its organisation and delivery. The vast majority of you ‘strongly agreed’ that the teaching, including assessment and feedback, had gone well.

Some comments from the two groups included:

Group 1: ‘Easy to get involved in interesting discussion’; ‘lectures are interesting and well delivered’; ‘nice, talkative seminar’; ‘the tutor is very good at explaining things’;’ the module is engaging and interesting’; ‘excellent teaching …hugely enjoying + my favourite lecturer’; ‘the lectures are varied and in good depth without ever being unclear or overwhelming’.

Group 2: ‘easy to participate in seminars’; ‘clear, concise and well organised lectures’; ‘both the lectures and seminar are engaging’; ‘everything very well explained and taught clearly. Excellent lectures’; ‘improved my essay writing’; ‘relaxed atmosphere created’; ‘feedback was very helpful’; ‘the best seminar I am in’; ‘structure of the seminar is great’.

Two of you would have liked the recordings of the lectures to be immediately available. Here I have a confession of incompetence, since I thought I was using the equipment correctly in the new teaching room but apparently I was not switching on the recording! I shall remedy this for the coming term.
