**Note on seminar timing**

Friday 2pm group: the MRC workshop will take place in Week 3 at the usual seminar time.

Friday 11am group: the MRC workshop will take place in Week 4 at the usual seminar time.

Please meet directly at the Modern Records Centre.

The objective of the workshop is to introduce you to archives in general, and to those that may be of use to you in your forthcoming dissertations/long essays. In particular the MRC holds the records of the Howard League for Penal Reform and the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders. You will be expected to search the collections for a source to discuss at the seminar on prisons next week.

Please make sure you bring your student ID and a pencil. A digital camera may also be helpful.
