IGSD and Sustainability Spotlight hosted an Azerbaijani representative from the COP29 Scientific Council

Azerbaijani Collaboration on Sustainability Initiatives
On 14-16 October IGSD and Sustainability Spotlight hosted Dr Günel Ismailzada from Azerbaijan, a member of the Scientific Council for COP 29, who visited Warwick as a guest of the Sustainability Spotlight initiative. During her visit, Dr Ismailzada gave a seminar, met with the IAS and the International Team to explore opportunities for collaboration. She also engaged with the Steering Group members of the Sustainability Spotlight on developing COLAB3 and the ECR Training Academy for Sustainable Futures in particular. We are excited to grow our Sustainability Training School further, in collaboration with our Azerbaijani partners, and also develop potential projects focused on water scarcity, just transitions, gender equality and climate change, which could provide valuable networking and place- and project-based experiences for our Early Career Researchers (ECRs) especially. Additionally the Sustainability Spotlight meeting launched COLAB5 'The Road to COP30' as a network of Warwick researchers focusing on climate action.
