Trans staff and student participants wanted for deadnaming focus groups

Nick Cherryman and Sam Parr are running a series of trans-led focus groups on the use of deadnames in the University context, with the aim of writing up guidance to inform best practise for the University.

We are looking for both staff and students to participate in focus groups to share their experiences of changing name(s) (or barriers to changing names if they have not), or of having a deadname at Warwick. We welcome contributions and feedback in these sessions that will help inform what the Warwick trans community wants to see when it comes to name changes, on an institutional level.

All focus groups will be conducted in a safer space environment, will be trans-led, and any personal data shared will be held in the strictest confidentiality. To register interest please use this online form or contact Nick Cherryman or Sam Parr directly. Registration of interest will close on 15th July.

Access to the form will be restricted to Sam Parr and Nick Cherryman, and data will be deleted as soon as the project is completed (the aim being the end of July). Focus groups will be scheduled following the circulation of an availability poll to those who register interest.

If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Sam via s.parr.2@warwick.ac.uk.
