Research Interests

My main research interests are in computer vision including: image processing, data mining and machine learning, Deep learning, pattern recognition, and Biomedical image analysis.

I am currently working as a Research Fellow in Biomedical Image Analysis at Warwick University, Coventry, UK. Before joining Warwick University, I worked for the Nottingham Molecular Pathology Node (NMPN), School of Medicine at Nottingham University, Nottingham, UK, as a Research Fellow in Histology Image Analysis. Also, I held the position of Marie Curie Research Fellow at the School of Computer Science at Nottingham University. I received my Ph.D. degree (with Doctor Europaeus) in Computer Science and Engineering from IMT - Institute for Advanced Studies, Lucca, Italy. During my PhD studies, I was a Visiting Researcher at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK. Moreover, I did the pre-graduate A*STAR research attachment Programme at A*STAR Bioinformatics Institute, Singapore within the Image Informatics Division. I have been involved in the program committees of major conferences related to machine learning, including HPCC, EIDWT and CIBEC and have served as a reviewer for international journals such as IET Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Neurocomputing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, International Journal for Light and Electron Optics, Sensors, and Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine.
