Welcome to Chemistry!

Congratulations on achieving your place on an MSc course in Chemistry at Warwick. We look forward to meeting you in September and to helping you settle into university life. You'll find information on this page that you might find useful ahead of starting with us, so please take a few minutes to read it through.
We're here for you every step of the way, so if you have any questions before you start then please just contact us. You can reach the Postgraduate Admin team via e-mail to chem-pgt@warwick.ac.uk.
Before you arrive
We don't require you to do any background reading for your course before your arrival and you don't need to buy anything for your course. We will give you everything you need including access to electronic textbooks, a laboratory coat and safety glasses. Loan laptops are available for anyone who needs one. Please get in touch with us at chem-pgt@warwick.ac.uk to let us know if you’d like to borrow a laptop for the duration of the course, and to make arrangements for collection.
Welcome week
We've put together a comprehensive schedule of events for your first week with us. These events will help orientate you, allow you to meet your course mates and become familiar with the Department. Attendance is mandatory at all events and it's really important that you attend. You'll be introduced to key members of staff, and you'll learn about what is expected of you throughout your degree programme.
We know the first few weeks can be overwhelming, and you'll be receiving a lot of new information. If you're unsure of anything, then our Postgraduate Admin team are here to help. You can hear from the Director of PGT Programmes Professor Martin Wills in his introductory talk on Monday 29 September. A recording of this will be available here after this date. If you were unable to attend this PGT Welcome Week talk then it is essential that you watch the full recording, as it contains important information about your course.
Community and Wellbeing
Giving you the best possible welcome is important for us and we want you to feel a part of our supportive departmental and University community. Chemistry's pastoral care and administration teams are all here to put your wellbeing first, just let us know if you have any questions or if we can help you in any way.

ChemSoc are our award-winning student society who will be on hand to help you settle in and make the most out of your time at Warwick.
