We've designed a welcome week to prepare you for the start of your studies with us. All sessions are essential and you're expected to attend these. Don't worry about missing out; we'll automatically include them in your welcome timetable. See session details below. We can't wait to meet you!
Welcome to Chemistry at Warwick
Join us as we warmly welcome you to Year 1 at Warwick! You'll get to meet key colleagues and hear from your Deputy Head of Department, Director of Undergraduate Studies, and Director of Student Experience. This informative session will not only introduce you to key figures in your academic journey but also provide valuable insights into what lies ahead and what awaits you in your course. There will be friendly faces to help you with any questions you might have. Don't forget to collect your welcome pack on your way in!
We are Chemistry Lunch
After your welcome talk, come and join us for your introductory lunch where you'll get to meet everyone else on your course. You'll have the opportunity to meet your course mates in a more informal setting, plus there will be a host of colleagues on hand who are available to chat about the support they provide. ChemSoc and the Chemistry Mentors will also be in attendance, so it'll be the perfect opportunity to meet with them.
Team Building
This is a great opportunity for you to get to know your fellow students and staff, and to learn about problem-solving in teams, one of the transferable skills you will use as part of your course. The event will be held on the Westwood Campus, and some of these activities will take place outside so please dress accordingly.
You'll be allocated one of the following sessions. Your welcome timetable will indicate which session to attend.
Fun Friday: Taster Sessions
Join us on Friday 29 September, for an exciting showcase of our vibrant Chemistry community! The Student Experience Team will be presenting a variety of engaging activities, offering a sneak peek into our weekly We are Chemistry events than run throughout term. Come along, participate in any session that sparks your interest, and get a taste of what awaits you. This is also the perfect chance to ask questions and seek clarifications. All are welcome! Find us in the Chemistry Common Room, Chem360 (B2.01), located on the Science Concourse. Booking not required. See you there!
Therapy Dogs
10am - 12pm
Join us and discover all the benefits that our 4 legged friends can help us with. Did you know that dogs hold social, cognitive and emotional benefits? Come along, pet, relax and reflect on the start of term!
Free Pizza
12pm - 2pm
Come along for a free pizza lunch, music and games. Hosted by Adam and Tom, we're available throughout to help with your questions, or to help with any clarifications. Call in at any time for a slice of pizza!
Board Games
2pm - 4pm
As welcome week comes to an end, we'll be offering a social board game session. The perfect opportunity to wind down, have fun and reflect on the week! You can meet course mates and bring any queries with you too. We're on hand to help!
Get Active
Friendly 5-a-side
Throughout term we offer free weekly friendly 5-a-side football. This is open to all staff and students, and to all abilities. It's a great way to get to know more people and keep active. Come along to this initial taster - everyone is welcome!

ChemSoc at the Societies Fair
Wednesday 27 & Thursday 28 September

The societies fair is a vibrant occasion that will give you the opportunity to explore and join various clubs and organisations on campus. It offers a diverse range of activities and interests, and gives you the opportunity to make friends. Sign up to ChemSoc here!

BioSoc are hosting a STEM-wide games night. Come along to this fun session to meet new friends from across the sciences! The event is organised in collaboration with ChemSoc, and the exec will be on hand to answer any questions about joining the society! See you there!
