In Memoriam: Fintan Hanley
We in the Department of Chemistry are very sad to announce that we have lost one of our community, first year student Fintan Hanley, who passed away recently.
Fintan was studying for an M.Chem. in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry. During his time with us, we knew him to be hard-working and he was performing well on his course. His personal tutor and others that knew him were enjoying working with and teaching such an engaged and inquiring young man, who was already demonstrating great potential despite having only been with our department a few months.
We send our deepest condolences to Fintan’s parents and wider family. Fintan had a community of friends in Coventry and the local area as well as new friends that he was getting to know at the University, and we extend our condolences to them as well.
The funeral will take place at 11am on 30 December 2019 at Rainsbrook Crematorium in Rugby, and afterwards at the Citrus Hotel in Ryton. The dress code will be sporting shirts or something bright.
