Celebrating Our Research Enabler: Elise Bennett

The 2026 Research Celebration Awards opened this year’s Research Culture Week, recognising colleagues who help shape a collaborative, supportive and thriving research environment. Rooted in our commitment to Community and Connections, the event highlights the people who make Warwick’s research culture exceptional. The Research Enabler category celebrates professional services and technical colleagues whose expertise and dedication make research possible. We congratulate Elise for being a worthy award winner in this category. Elise was nominated for her outstanding contribution to enabling research within the Department of Chemistry. Her expert coordination of Early Career Researcher fellowship support, including sifting, mock interviews and proposal development, helped secure five major fellowships in the past year. She also provides high‑level support for REF panel membership applications, strengthening Warwick’s insight into national research assessment processes.

Alongside this, Elise designs engaging research showcase events that have increased research participation and inspired record levels of URSS applications. Her work has had lasting impact on research culture, capacity and community, and she consistently embodies our values through connection‑building and opportunity‑sharing.
