Dr. Victoria SodréResearch Fellow |
Victoria is a postdoctoral researcher working on the biocatalytic production of pyridines and piperidines from lignin. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences (2016) from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry (2021) from the same institution. During her doctoral studies, Victoria explored diverse microbial and enzymatic strategies for valorisation of lignin and lignocellulosic hydrolysates. Her research interests involve developing new sustainable routes to produce chemicals from renewable feedstocks. |

Zhaoyue LiMIBTP CASE PhD candidate |
Zhaoyue Li, a Master graduate from Wageningen University, major in Food technology, specializing in Food Biotechnology and Biorefining. She got her Bachelor degree in ean University of China, majoring in Food Science and Engineering. She works on Enzymatic Degradation of Man-Made Plastics. |
Indra SaputraPhD candidate |
Indra is a PhD candidate currently working on the bioconversion of lignin biomass into tyrosol through a metabolic engineering approach to the styrene degradation pathway. Previously, Indra completed an undergraduate program in the Department of Biochemistry at IPB University, Indonesia, where he worked on the molecular genetics of Xanthomonas sp. He then pursued a master's degree in the biotechnology program at the same university, focusing his research on improving ethanol tolerance as bioenergy in a recombinant host. |
Yipeng HuaMRes student |
Yipeng Hua is a MRes student (2024-25). He obtained his first master's degree from the University of Manchester, and a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool. He is currently working on the overexpression, purification and characterisation of novel dioxygenase and methyltransferase enzymes from lignin-degrading bacterium Sphingobacterium sp. T2. |
