Q-Sense E4 Quartz Crystal Microbalance with dissapation monitoring

TAM III Calorimeter (with ITC capacity)

CEM Microwave Unit (Owned by Becer Group)

High specification microbalance for measuring the interactions of biomolecules at surfaces. Typically a protein of interest is immobilised and the anlayte flowed over giving kinetic and equilibrium binding information. (This is highly complimentary to SPR, conducted with Dr. D. Mitchel, Warwick Medical School) High-specification multi-channel calorimeter. In ITC (isothermal titration calorimetry) mode it can direct measure binding interactions between carbohydrates-proteins and other ligand-host pairs This is owned by the Becer group, and we make use of this for microwave-enhanced solid phase peptide synthesis

World-Class Size Exlcusion Chromatography Suite

Full suite of SEC machines, running DMF, chloroform, THF and aqueous buffers. Also a high temperature machine capable of operating up to 200 C. All these are equiped with a wide range of detectors inlcuding viscometers, refractive index, light scattering, flourescence and photo diode array (full UV-Vis spectrum of sample every few seconds as it elutes).
