We're Hiring! PDRA vacancy
We have a vacancy for an ambitious PDRA to work on our new cell cryopreservation technology. This role is to undertaken world-class cell biology to understand how our macromolecular (polymer) antifreeze protein mimics enable cells to survive cryopreservation, with the long term aim of reducing, or removing, the need for organic sovlents in cryopreservation. A particular aim of this project is to enable the cryopreservatino of donor stem cells, so the candidate will have experience of using primary human tissue, and all necessary analytics (microscopy, flow cytometry). We work as a team, spread over 4 laboratories in the Medical School and the Department of Chemistry, so a strong team-ethic is essential.
We're hiring! Administrative Coordinator
We have a vacancy for an administrative coordinator to join us. The role will be to help with the administration of the large and diverse group, split between the Chemistry Department and The Medical School and to provide clerical support to Professor Gibson.
Post-Doc Vacancy
We have a vacancy for an ambitious and talented post-doc to joint our interdisciplinary team. The project will focus on using recombinant (bacterial expression) methods to generate protein-based biomaterials as new mimics of antifreeze proteins. The global aim of this work is to improve methods for the cryopreservation of donor cells and tissue for regenerative medicine.

Postdoctoral Vacancy!
We have a 6 month, fixed term PDRA position available in the group to start immediately.
The position will involve investigating the cryopreservation of tissue for transplantation, using our new technology inpsired by antifreeze glycoproteins. See our recent Nature Communications paper for background;

Applicants MUST have extensive experience of cell culture techniques. This is NOT a synthetic position. In the first instance, you should contact Dr. Gibson directly and enclose a 2-PAGE CV, listing publications, experience and references.
PhD in Biosciences
PhD studentships funded by the Midlands Integrative Biological Training programme, which can be based in the Gibson Lab are available. http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/cross_fac/mibtp/pgstudy/phd_opportunities/molecular_mechanisms or email MIG for more information.
