Recognition for ABSPIE Lab Research Assistant & 4th year PhD student Davide Piaggio

Davide Piaggio, Research Assistant and 4th year PhD student from the ABSPIE Lab, supervised by Prof Leandro Pecchia, was awarded a ‘student health challenge award’ for the ‘Short Course’ category of the International Clinical Engineering Health Technology Management Conference 2021 (ICEHTMC2021).

Davide was already the recipient of two awards at ICEHTMC2019 (Rome, 2019). This year he presented a work titled ‘Affordable manufacturing of medical devices for low-resource settings (LRSs): a case study on 3D-printed oxygen concentrator filters’ during the session ‘Short course: writing clinical engineering research papers’, showing useful tips on how clinical engineering projects can make it to publication.

ICEHTMC2021 held its fourth edition (October 24-26, 2021), which focussed on UN Global Sustainable Development Goals related to health and healthcare technologies.

This year, there were over 2500 registrants and 360 submissions, out of which 200 were shortlisted for presentation at the event.
