·Why did you choose this course?
I chose this course because it uniquely combines my interest in biotechnology with essential business and management skills. Given my background in Biomedical Sciences, this interdisciplinary approach aligns perfectly with my career aspirations in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Warwick stood out due to its emphasis on real-world applications through business strategy, commercialization, and innovation modules.
·What has your MSc experience been so far?
So far, my MSc experience has been intellectually stimulating and dynamic. The combination of science and business has exposed me to the commercial side of biotech. Engaging in case studies, group projects, and networking with industry professionals has provided me with a deeper understanding of how scientific discoveries are translated into marketable products.
·What has been your favourite module or topic so far?
One of my favourite modules has been accounting and finance. It allowed me to develop new skills within a completely new field. Understanding financial principles and their application in the biotech industry has broadened my perspective and opened up new career possibilities that I had not previously considered.
·What opportunities in the department or wider university have you taken up?
I joined the SLS Student Network as an Ethnicity Co-Lead because I am passionate about fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students from diverse backgrounds. In this role, I have worked on initiatives that promote representation, cultural awareness, and equal opportunities within life sciences department.
·What are you most looking forward to this year?
I’m most looking forward to beginning my dissertation research, where I’ll have the chance to explore a complex problem, analyse real-world data, and develop a unique perspective on the intersection of biotechnology and business.
