Facilities and support during your studies

High quality teaching facilities
You willll be taught in dedicated lecture rooms and have access to a variety of work spaces. Our facilities include our Interactive Computational Learning Suite which contains 120 iMacs for bioinformatics and computational skills teaching and a range of bio-analytical technology resources.

BioMed Grid
To support your study you will have full access to the BioMed Grid based on Gibbet Hill Campus. This is a learning environment for biologists, with reference books, careers information, video editing, SMART boards, plasma screens and presentation rooms.

Quantitative Biology Centre (QuBiC)
QuBiC provides an opportunity for you to obtain support with the data handling skills that are important for Life Science research and a range of careers. The Centre provides drop-in sessions for students at all levels within the School.

Personal tutoring and mentoring
In addition to University support mechanisms and facilities, Life Sciences has its own extensive support structure. You will have a personal tutor who will be there throughout your time with us to help with both academic and personal issues. You can also choose to be mentored by one of our PhD students or Postdoctoral researchers who will advise you on academic writing.

Life on Gibbet Hill Campus
Gibbet Hill Campus is the perfect place for Life Sciences students looking for a focused yet vibrant academic experience. Surrounded by lush greenery and nestled next to Tocil Wood and nature reserves, it provides a peaceful and inspiring environment for study and research. State-of-the-art labs and modern lecture theatres sit alongside open green spaces, perfect for relaxing between classes or taking a refreshing walk. The on-site café offers a welcoming space to connect with fellow students, while the main campus is just a short walk away, ensuring easy access to Warwick’s wider academic and social opportunities.
Opportunities to get involved

BioSoc - Warwick students’ Biology Society
Friendly, innovative and open to anyone, the BioSoc society is a focal point for all biology students. The student-led society runs peer support sessions, socials and events throughout the year. Being part of BioSoc is also a great way of meeting new people and making friends on your course.

Student and Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC)
The Student Staff Liaison Committee is made up of student representatives from all postgraduate courses and members of staff. The committee provides a space for students to discuss anything related to teaching, learning and student support, and to get involved with the running of the School.
