Friends and contributors to the success of Warwick Clinical Trials Unit are invited to celebrate our 10th Anniversary with us on Thursday 7 May 2015.

The event will be opened by the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Nigel Thrift and you will hear from speakers who have worked with us over the last decade:

  • Sallie Lamb, the former Director of CTU, will look back over the history of the Unit
  • Tom Walley, from NIHR as our major funder, will talk about our contribution
  • Some of our prominent trialists, Janet Dunn, Matt Costa and Gavin Perkins, will talk about three of our major strands of work:
    • Cancer
    • Trauma and orthopaedics
    • Emergency and critical care
  • We will also consider what is in store for the bright future of the Unit

There will be plenty of opportunity to network with colleagues and enjoy some refreshments and music as well.

Warwick Clinical Trials Unit was set up in 2005 as part of Warwick Medical School and has demonstrated its expertise in the design and conduct of trials particularly of complex health states and interventions.

Our interdisciplinary approach ensures collaboration with and between clinical trialists, statisticians, economists, clinical experts and project managers.

The programmes of work draw together quantitative and qualitative methodologies in an evaluation framework covering the areas of:

  • Cancer
  • Emergency and Critical Care
  • Frailty
  • Mental Health
  • Musculoskeletal disorders and pain
  • Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Clinical trials methodology
