Abstract: I will talk about the gut pathogen Clostridium difficile and how it interacts with the gut mucosa and the native gut microbiota. I will present some recent in vitro models that we have developed to track bacteria within mixed communities and to study host-anaerobe interactions, and how we have used these systems to study C. difficile infection.
