On May 4 2021 at 4pm, the Centre for the History of Medicine at the University of Warwick will be hosting a webinar on Vaccination Programmes, Present and Past. We are fortunate that Dr Stephanie Snow, University of Manchester, and Dr Gareth Millward, University of Warwick, will be joining us to share their expertise. Dr Snow is the Director of the NHS Voices of Covid-19 project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The project is creating an oral history collection and we’ll be hearing about testimony regarding the vaccination programme. Dr Millward is the author of Vaccinating Britain: Mass vaccination and the public since the Second World War. Dr Rosemary Cresswell, University of Warwick, will be chairing, and she will also be thinking about the role of volunteers in vaccination campaigns. The team will also be discussing the types of questions which our People’s History of the NHS members have submitted to our webpage about vaccination programmes since the 1940s.
