Online Dean's Distinguished Lecture: Professor Jasmeet Soar
Perioperative cardiac arrest – ‘Will I wake up after my anaesthetic?'
Not waking up after a general anaesthetic is one of the commonest fears of patients having surgery.
The Royal College of Anaesthetists National Audit Projects (NAPs) study rare complications of surgery – NAP7 studied perioperative cardiac arrests occurring over a 1 year period in the UK including the impact on both the patients and those caring for them. In this lecture, Prof Soar will present the headline findings and recommendations for improving patient care and outcomes.
More details about NAP7 is available here.
