Warwick Medical School students and staff recognised at SU Awards

Warwick Medical School students and staff have been recognised at the Warwick Students' Union Awards.

The SU Awards take place every year and celebrate the incredible work of students and staff across campus to improve the student experience at Warwick. This year 11 individuals were shortlisted for an award, as well as one WMS society, with three winning prizes.

Congratulations to:

  • Blessing Khumbula
    Winner - Student Welfare Champion
    Blessing is the MedSoc Welfare Officer and leads the kindness pantry initiative at WMS which sources and provides food for students in need. Among other work, this year Blessing has focused on increasing the safety of students during nights out, including creating a new exec policy, distributing panic alarms and increasing awareness of the importance of making safe travel home plans.

  • Morna Woods
    Winner - Best Support Staff
    Morna is a student support officer in our MB ChB team. She has a significant impact on our student community, supporting them through difficult processes and situations with care and dedication.

  • MedSoc (Warwick Medical Society)
    Winner - Best Student Society
    MedSoc has made outstanding contributions to student life, education, and community engagement this year. Representing over 250 members and supporting 60+ sub-societies, the team have enhanced academic and pastoral support through peer-led seminars, welfare schemes and inclusive events. They have also strengthened student voice in governance, working closely with SSLC structures and senior faculty.
