Enhancing Research Culture Funding Award

Sharing Enhancing Research Culture Funding Success

We are delighted to announce that the following projects have secured funding for University Of Warwick Enhancing Research Culture Initiatives:

Informed by active engagement with staff and students, the ‘Enhancing WMS’s Research Culture: implementing a community co-produced roadmap’ project (£43,000) will enable us to put into action various initiatives and activities prioritised by the WMS community. A key component of this funding will support the ongoing deployment of Adele Kenny as WMS’s Research Culture Officer for the next 12 months. Please don’t hesitate to contact Adele if you want to know more.

A collaboration between WMS MBChB students, alumni, and staff, have been awarded £25,000 to provide ongoing support and future development of the Beacon Internships and associated Beacon Academy. If you are interested in supervising an internship, please see the introduction document for supervisors. If you would like to apply for an intern for your project, please use this link to register. If you’d like to know more about Internships or the Academy, either a supervisor or as a potential intern, please contact us at WMSBeaconinternships@warwick.ac.uk.

The PGR team received £10,000 funding to improve research leadership skills across all career stages. The project aims to develop and implement a PGR supervisors' training and support programme that is mindful of the supervisor diversity at WMS. The development of this programme will be in collaboration with students, academics of all levels and research enablers, and will align with the Doctoral College plan to improve research culture and postgraduate research students' experience.

A group of WMS PGR students and staff have been awarded £10,000 for their project Ambassadors for Better Research Culture - Researcher's Peer Support Initiative from the Enhancing Research Culture Fund. Building on the success of last year's project, they will be working to set up a peer support network for PGR students and research staff across WMS and SLS.
