Helplines

Carer’s UK Telephone Helpline

This helpline provides information and guidance to unpaid carers. This covers a range of subjects including:

Benefits and financial support; your rights as a carer in the workplace; Carers' assessments and how to get support in your caring role; services available to carers and the people you care for; how to complain effectively and challenge decisions.

If you need somebody to talk to, Samaritans is available 24 hours a day, 365 days by phone and jo at samaritans dot org and more information can be found on their website.

Dementia UK - Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline

Mon-Fri 9am - 9pm; Sat-Sun 9am - 5pm

The Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline is for anyone with a question or concern about dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. They also provide critical emotional and practical support to carers affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19). Advice is available over the telephone, by email helpline at dementiauk dot org or on their website.

Age UK Advice Line

Age UK's advice line is a free, confidential national phone service for older people, their families, friends, carers, and professionals. You can also find out more about their support services in your area on their website and guidance for carers 

The Silver Line Helpline

Tel: 0800 4 70 80 90 - 24 hours a day

 

The Silver Line is a confidential, free helpline for older people across the UK open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Their specially trained helpline team can offer conversation and friendship; provide information and advice; link callers to local groups and services; refer people on to receive regular friendship calls; protect and support older people who are suffering abuse and neglect

Dementia Connect Line

Dementia advisers will listen and give you the support and advice you need, including coronavirus advice and connecting you to help you need.

MIND UK Infoline

Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm

The MIND UK Infoline provides an information and signposting service for people with mental health problems.

They provide advice about mental health problems, treatment options and advocacy and can signpost help near to you.
