CEReN Lectures - Dr Carol Hawley Presents : Driving and Disability: the road to safer travel

Dr Hawley will be talking about driving with neurological conditions, particularly brain injury, and also including older drivers. The talk will cover clinical guidelines, medical aspects of fitness to drive, the law and the role of health professionals and discuss on and off-road driving assessments, risk factors, aids and adaptations and alternatives to driving.

Dr. Carol Hawley is a Principal Research Fellow at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, United Kingdom, where she has worked since 1988. She is also Honorary Principal Research Fellow in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. She has been carrying out research into brain injury since 1991 and her PhD was on health, social and psychological outcomes after brain injury. She has had the privilege of talking to and working with many hundreds of children, their parents, adolescents and adults who have had a brain injury, and thus has a wealth of experience on this subject.

Warwick Medical School is located at the Gibbet Hill campus. As you will be parking after hours the main carpark will be available for carparking, you will not need a permit. Gibbet Hill has a visitor parking area by main reception and a main carpark at the back (immediate right as you turn onto campus).
