SCENE

SCENE is a research programme that aims to develop and evaluate a new intervention to help patients with psychosis to overcome social isolation and improve their quality of life.

SCENE (full title: ‘Improving quality of life and health outcomes of patients with psychosis through a new structured intervention for expanding social networks’) consists of several studies leading to and testing the new intervention which focuses on patients’ activities in contact with other people.

SCENE will last from June 2017 to March 2025 and is funded by the

National Institute for Health Research

(Chief Investigator: Dr Domenico Giacco). It is co-ordinated by the

Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry

(WHO Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Service Development) which is supported by both

Queen Mary University of London

(QMUL) and

East London NHS Foundation Trust

(ELFT). Our unique feature is that SCENE is a collaborative project with academic institutions, NHS Trusts, patients and commissioners.
