Participating Practices
The FOUND Trial recruited participants from General Practices within the NIHR West Midlands Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN). Recruitment occurred over an internal two-month feasibility phase followed by the main trial. “Stop-Go” criteria were used to assess feasibility, recruitment, adherence, and data completeness.
Participants were recruited from a diverse sample of 49 general practices across the West Midlands Regional Research Clinical Research Network (CRN) identifying participants at higher risk of OSA according to their medical records. Eligible patients were contacted by their practice and provided with an invitation letter and information sheet.
Participants in the intervention arm received the AcuPebble device by post and completed the sleep test overnight at home. Those in the control arm continued with usual care. Data was collected both from the AcuPebble device, medical notes review and patient reported measures at baseline and six months questionnaires.
