Congratulations to Dr Ngianga-Bakwin Kandala on being invited to join the Scientific Advisory Committee for a behaviour change research initiative to improve maternal and child health.

Dr Kandala has been invited to play an important role in developing a new program, the Population Level Behavior Change (PLBC) Research Initiative. As a member of the program’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) he will have an opportunity to help shape a call for proposals for research projects focused on communications and behavior change approaches to reduce child mortality and to improve maternal and child health for those living in resource constrained areas of developing countries. The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) is managing the development of this new initiative in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
