Research Interests

Navneet's expertise are in Health Psychology, Behavioural Science, Mental Health and Medical Statistics. To date, Navneet's work has focused on policy-driven research in the UK, broadly covering: psychological and disease adjustment in the context of chronic physical and mental illness, including diabetes mellitus, stroke, pain, and depression/anxiety; behaviour change; experimental psychology; behavioural insights/'Nudge'; public health; and healthcare quality. Navneet has developing interests in public health issues affecting populations globally, particularly in low and low-middle income countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sub-Saharan Africa.


Navneet joined the University of Warwick in January 2017. She began working with Prof. Ivo Vlaev at Warwick Business School on a public health project awarded by the Health Foundation, focused on improving hand hygiene compliance within a hospital setting using visual and olfactory primes. Navneet moved over to Warwick Medical School in January 2018 to work with Prof. Richard Lilford in the NIHR Global Research Unit on Improving Health in Slums. Navneet has a PhD awarded by the University of Nottingham. Her project was embedded in Health Psychology, focusing on the 'Common Sense Model,' and whether illness beliefs outlined by this model, predict key markers of post-stroke recovery, including health-related quality of life, disability and mood. Navneet also has an MSc in Medical Statistics, awarded by the University of Leicester, and a BSc Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Leeds. Navneet has extensive experience working as a researcher within various academic institutions, managing a range of qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method applied health research projects, predominantly delivered in NHS settings, and funded by numerous large organisations, including the NIHR.
