Research Interests

Research interests: As a member of Warwick Evidence, my research includes reviews and evidence syntheses on a range of health care interventions for the NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme, for a range of policy makers including NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), the National Screening Committee and the Department of Health, and also for the Cochrane Collaboration. My main interest is in diabetes related topics (including drugs and screening) and diabetes related eye conditions, but recent reviews have include a diagnostic test for inflammatory bowel disease and drugs for the treatment of bone metastases from solid tumours. I am also interested in the bibliometrics of systematic reviews and health technology assessment.

Pamela's background includes a PhD in Genetics from Monash University, a Graduate Diploma in Information Services from RMIT University and an MSc in Research Methods in Health from University of Southampton. In recent years, she has worked on a variety of health technology assessment projects. Most of these have been commissioned by the UK Health Technology Assessment Programme to support the work of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), but some have been to support other NHS policy-makers such as the National Screening Committee and the Department of Health, and the HTA Programme itself. Diabetes has been a common theme across the various types of research.
