Staff development - learning design consultancy and building capabilities
Digital education
We recognise that all academics use technology as a part of their teaching, whether creating digital learning materials for the Digital Learning Environment (DLE), creating interactive experiences in the lecture theatre, communicating with students, setting students technology-enabled tasks, creating virtual patients or delivering online assessments. As well as having access to software and hardware, you need the confidence, skills and ideas to make effective use of technology.
How can the WMS academic technology team help? We can provide expert guidance, signpost training opportunities and connect you to people who are doing similar things.
Academic Development Centre (ADC)
The Postgraduate Award in Technology Enhanced Learning is a part-time programme, designed to support participants as they carry out a Technology Enhanced Learning project. There are many opportunities to work collaboratively and share ideas with fellow participants. You have a choice between two pathways - Route 1 leading to Associate Fellowship of the HEA and Route 2 leading to Fellowship of the HEA.
The Digital Learning Environment
The Digital Learning Environment is a suite of technologies that can be used to facilitate and promote good teaching practices and extend your teaching and the learning experience for students beyond the confines of standard teaching spaces in-class and online.
Bespoke WMS digital education development activities
Bespoke workshops and events can be designed and delivered if required. Please contact the WMS Academic technology team to arrange a meeting to discuss your requirements. The majority of our support work is done through bespoke arrangement.
