Recent Events:

WMSTC Basic Surgical Skills Day

In partnership with WMSTCLink opens in a new window & UHCW, students had hands-on workshops with diathermy to cut & cauterise organic tissue, compete for Laparoscopic Champion, surgical tool handling, & practice positioning their peers on theatre beds! See more here.

Regional Suturing Teaching

New for 2024, our outreach work has been teaching basic suturing skills to aspiring medics in secondary school! With instrument handling, hand tying, & a few suturing techniques, our first event was a resounding success, enjoyed by students & teachers alike. More here.

Legendary Anatomy Days

For each of the 5 Phase 1 , we host 'recap revision' days (pizza lunch included!), reviewing major topics of the Blocks' content. Taught by purposefully selected Phase 2 & 3 students (gaining - or bringing! - valuable experience), the Teacher of the Day wins a Giant Microbes plushie! See all photos here.

Careers Day

Hosted by RCSEd & CT Dr Jessica Helm for the 2nd year, students enjoyed practical surgical workshops & spoke with consultants from many specialities.

Suture Kits

To support widening access, we sourced significantly reduced cost - no profit! - suture practice kits for WMS students.

Portfolio Talk

Thank you to WMS graduate Dr Emily Moseley for taking our students through surgical portfolio requirements, improvements, & answering our questions!
