Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Genetic and Genomic Counselling

This module introduces the core principles and practice of genetic and genomic counselling in reproductive science. The module also examines the ethical, legal, and social implications of advances in genomics, including issues of genetic privacy, gene editing, genetic data sharing, and societal impacts of genomic medicine. It provides students with skills in risk communication, ethical decision-making, and patient-centred care. Emphasising multidisciplinary collaboration, it prepares students for the evolving role of genomics in reproductive healthcare.
