MRes Translational Biomedical Research Scholarship (Academic year 2025/2026)

Warwick Medical School is delighted to be able to award up to 10 scholarships to overseas students joining the MRes in Translational Biomedical Research in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Each scholarship will be valued at £9,574.50, which amounts to 25% of the tuition fees. The scholarships will only be available to overseas status fee-paying students who aim to complete the full MRes over one year.

The scholarship will be awarded towards the payment of a student’s tuition fee and cannot be used for payment of a deposit.

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates based on their academic achievements demonstrated through their academic performances, references and personal statement.

Eligibility Criteria

To receive the scholarship you must:

  • Be self-funded*
  • Be classed as an 'overseas' or ‘international fee paying’ student for tuition fee purposes
  • Apply for the MRes Translational Biomedical Research programme by no later than Thursday 31 July 2025, 12.00 pm (UK time).
  • Hold an unconditional offer for MRes Translational Biomedical Research course and accept the offer by 31 August 2025
  • Meet the conditions of your visa
  • Pay the remaining 50% tuition fee by the first day of term 1

Application process

Applications for the MRes Programme can be made online. As part of your application please include a 1-page personal statement outlining your reasons for wishing to undertake the programme and at the top of this document clearly note you wish to be considered for the scholarships and that you are self-funded.

You do not need to make a separate application for the scholarship – your application for the MRes programme will be taken as an application for both the MRes programme and to be considered for the scholarship. Please note that all eligible applicants will be invited to take part in an interview. Interviews will be held online.

Please ensure you have submitted your application no later than Thursday 31 July 2025, 12.00 pm (UK time).

*Self-funded definition

You are considered to be a self-funded student if you are financing your studies with your own savings or if you are receiving financial assistance from family or friends. If you take out a student loan to cover the cost of your studies, you are also considered to be self-funded. You are not self-funded if your fees are being paid by your employer or a third party (other than family and friends) or if you are in receipt of a study grant or scholarship external to the University.
