2018 Students

Tom White

tomwhite

Tom joined the lab of Steve Royle at the Centre for Mechanochemical Biology (CMCB) using synthetic methods to study vesicle trafficking in mammalian cells. Tom is currently reading maths and physics at the University of Warwick.

Madeleine Hooper

maddyhooper

Maddie joined us from the University of Oxford where she is studying for an MBiochem. Maddie undertook a project in the lab of Rob Cross on a project probing the mechanochemistry of kinesins.

Nicoll Mathews

Nicoll

Nicoll undertook a project in the lab of Andrew Bowman at Warwick Medical School. Her project was aimed at modelling the dynamics of replicated chromatin in living cells. She joined us from the the University of Durham. UPDATE: Nicoll has recently secured a PhD position at the Institute of Cancer Research in London starting 2019!

Alex Wray

Alex joined us from the University of Nottingham where he is reading for an MSci in Physics. He undertook a summer project with Masanori Mishima within the Centre for Mechanochemical Biology. His project involved in vitro characterisation of a centralspindlin mutant.

Paulina Bartnik

Paulina joined us from Coventry University. She is currently undertaking a B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry & Forensic Science. Paulina undertook an exciting project with Mark Christian at CSRL, investigating the role of lipid droplets in cellular physiology.
