Introduction
Name: George Smith
Year of study: First year
Hometown: Windsor
College/Sixth Form subjects: Physics, maths and biology
Why did you pick MSci Integrated Natural Sciences?
It incorporated all my A-level subjects as well as providing a platform to experience research in a multitude of fields with a large abundance of practical work incorporated into the course.
Why did you choose Warwick?
I loved the campus style and the close community doctrine within the Medical School! Furthermore, it provided very high quality professors undergoing research on the frontier of scientific knowledge.
How have you found the course so far?
Very rewarding but pretty tough, a lot of work needs to be put in, but it feels very nice after it all gets used for the fortnightly papers.
How have you found the change from college/sixth form to university?
It’s a bit of a step up if I’m honest, however it quickly widens your knowledge of various fields of science that you had no idea about before arriving!
What have you enjoyed the most about the course so far?
The relationships built with other students and professors, as well as the flexibility of course administrators to alter details of the course if students feel it needs tweaking.
Have you been involved in any extracurricular activities?
Athletics, hockey and cricket.
Do you have an idea what you would like to do when you graduate?
Right now, I hope to be doing a PhD after this course finishes, but still early days!
Do you have any advice for people applying for the course?
It may be worth reviewing your A-Level notes shortly before starting the course, especially maths and physics.
Finally, what three words would you use to describe your experience of studying at WMS?
Welcoming, stimulating and rewarding.
