Attending an Open Day will give you the opportunity to learn more about studying medicine here at WMS. You will be able to find out more about the application process, sample a taster clinical skills session, gain an understanding of the course structure, how it is taught and find out from our current students what it is really like to be a medical student at WMS.

Please note, we are unable to arrange appointments for individual applicants to meet with academic or admissions staff.

2020 Open Days

We held two virtual open days in 2020, you can view the respective pages to these events by following the links below:

Please note our MB ChB open days are separate from the University's campus-wide undergraduate open days. The virtual undergraduate open days will only cover our two undergraduate science degrees, MSci Integrated Science and BSc Health and Medical Sciences. There will be no sessions on our MBChB degree at these events.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about our open days? You should be able to find everything you need to know here, but if there's anything not covered, please contact us and let us know.
    Q. Do I have to book a place at the Open Day?

    A. Yes - it is essential you book a place online for the Open Day as there is a maximum number of places available.

    Q. Will I receive confirmation?

    A. Yes - you will receive an email confirming you have a place. A reminder email with the session(s) that you have booked will be sent to you a week in advance and the day before the event.

    Q. Can I bring a guest with me?

    A. Guests are welcome to attend the online sessions if joining via the applicant's computer (please ensure you adhere to the relevant Covid-19 regulations). Owing to capacity requirements, we politely request that only applicants register for sessions to ensure there is enough space in each session.

    Q. I have registered for the event, but I can't attend anymore, what should I do?

    A. Please log back in to your.warwick.ac.uk and cancel the booking that you have. This will free up a space for another applicant to register for the event. If you have registered but cancelled your booking, we will still be able to share the recordings of the sessions with you post-event.

    Q. I can't attend any of the Open Days; can I visit at another time?

    A. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we cannot facilitate physical visits to campus at the moment. When University, local and government restrictions permit, you are welcome to visit the University independently. Our Virtual Open Day sessions will be recorded, so you are welcome to review these at your leisure if you are unable to attend the events.

    Q. Can I arrange a private appointment to meet with the Director of Admissions?

    A. Our Open Days give potential applicants far more information and insight into the MB ChB programme at Warwick Medical School than a meeting with one member of staff. The Director of Admissions is, however, usually present at Open Days and is willing to answer questions. We hope you appreciate it is not possible to give potential applicants a private appointment, as we would be unable to meet demand.

    Q. Will I be able to speak to current MB ChB students?

    A. Yes, students will give a presentation on their experiences of the course and how they found the admissions process. There will also be the chance to chat to students during the session.

    Q. How can I get in touch if I have any questions?

    A. If you have any questions that aren't covered here, please email us.
