Year Three

You will begin Year Three with Integrated Care, an 11 week study block to consolidate your learning and clinical assessment skills by exploring more complex patient journeys, for example multiple comorbidities or prolonged hospital stays with complications and the roles of the multi-disciplinary team. Learning will consist of study activities at the university campus and clinical placements with our NHS partner trusts. Alongside you will conduct a research project, where you will have an opportunity to select an area for in-depth enquiry.

During year three and year four you will rotate through 8 specialist clinical blocks, further enhancing knowledge around core subject areas and developing professional skills. The majority of your learning will be based acute hospitals, mental health services and GP practices in the wider community.

At this stage of the programme, you will be expected to adopt a highly self‑directed approach to learning. You will be encouraged to engage closely with clinical teams and patients, enabling you to apply and deepen the knowledge and skills developed during Phase 2. This immersive experience supports the transition from structured learning to confident clinical practice.
